From my early life experinces snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef and Tahiti to my more recent adventures scuba and freediving the Massachusetts coast and southeast Asia, I have always had a fascination with the ocean. Throughout my undergraduate career, this manifested itself in research conducted at MIT, UMass Amherst, NOAA,and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. I'm now making marine research into my career by pursuing a Ph.D. in the Lauder lab at Harvard University. I also recently expanded my marine horizons as a SCUBA professional, achieving my open water instructor certification in 2016. I've taught people how to dive in the cold waters of Massachusetts as well as in the (relatively) warm biodiverse waters of Komodo, Indonesia. My interest in the natural world is not restricted to the marine realm, I also greatly enjoy capturing images of animals and plants using telephoto and macro photography.
